Strong and spicy in flavor, Melchiorri's Frantoio Extra Virgin Olive oil is made from 65% Frantoio olives, 25% Moraiolo olives, and 10% Leccino olives. This EVOO is a textured and bold oil that is both raw and unfiltered with fruity, bitter and slightly spicy notes.
Frantoio is not only the name of the predominant olive type in this blend, it is also the name of the machine that was traditionally used to crush olives in order to extract olive oil. A rendering of this ancient machine is on the label. Use this oil for bruschetta, salads, vegetables, dressings or marinades.
